Zedaph, or Zed for short, is a YouTuber and member of Hermitcraft. He joined in Season 5 alongside Stressmonster101. He has 318,000 [1] subscribers on his YouTube channel. His most viewed video is So... I Got A New Base!!! - Minecraft Hermitcraft Season 7 #38
Season 5[]
Zedaph joined the server in the 1.11 Exploration Update, though they later updated to version 1.12. This season consisted of 59 episodes, the first being released on March 13, 2017, and the final episode on July 13, 2018.
Areas[]
The Crystal Caves[]
The Crystal Caves were Zedaph's base that he began work on in episode 1, and was made out of white-stained glass, concrete powder, glowstone (later changed to sea lanterns) and quartz slabs.
He also built a skeleton security system, linked with a skeleton spawner as his supply, pushing them up using pistons with the goal of them shooting any intruder. In his final episode, Zedaph reset this, so when the doorbell was rung, two name-tagged skeletons with Power V bows would start shooting the intruder.
He built an enchantment room and super-smelter room among other things, deciding to leave all his redstone on display through the glass.
The Lake of Life[]
In episode 4, Zedaph finds a lake, declaring it his lake of life. The lake of life is a large collection of an assortment of farms, including a cow farm, an automatic carrot farm and an automatic potato farm.
He then built a minecart and chest system to collect all the items from each farm and bring them back to the Crystal Caves.
Lake Honk[]
Lake Honk was designed to be a paradise for villagers, setting up a secret underwater breeding facility to produce more villagers, using water streams to send them to the island around Lake Honk and populate the island. This didn't work on the first attempt however, as the baby villagers swam to the center of the lake due to villagers automatically going to a collection of villagers within 64 blocks of them.
Zedaph then fixed this problem, making trading stations underwater and building a secret base with a hidden sand door.
The Gaming District[]
Zedaph set up the Gaming District in his 18th episode on a mycelium island so that mobs couldn't spawn. He terraformed the land as far as he could. He even made a currency specifically for use in The Gaming District, made of Sunflower heads and renamed to Hermitoken, even adding a seal of legitimacy to each of them.
Many games were added to it, including the game show, Is That Sheep Looking At Me?, the HotSwap challenge and Chorus Chaos. Winding paths made out of smooth andesite, acacia wood and smooth stone paths were made throughout the entire district, with varying levels of height. Xisumavoid noticed the advert Zedaph made in episode 21, adding colourful sections and nearly covering all of the mycelium.
Events[]
The HotSwap Challenge[]
TangoTek and Zedaph teamed up to do the HotSwap Challenge, a challenge where you have to collect different valuable items during a time limit, gaining points and aiming to earn more as a pair than all the other hermits. This challenge quickly took off, prompted TangoTek and Zedaph to build a place explaining the rules and showcasing every pair of Hermit's scores.
Is That Sheep Looking At Me?[]
In his original singleplayer world, Zedaph created a game show, titled "Is That Sheep Looking At Me?" He decided to create the same game on the Hermitcraft server, building an entire game show designed for three contestants.
FalseSymmetry, Cubfan135, and TangoTek all participated in round one, with FalseSymmetry being first eliminated, and Cubfan135 being eliminated in the final round, leaving TangoTek as the winner.
MumboJumbo, PythonGB, and Xisumavoid all participated in round one, with PythonGB being first eliminated, and MumboJumbo being eliminated in the final round, leaving Xisumavoid as the winner.
Worm Man[]
In episode 4, Worm Man makes his first appearance, but his identity is unknown at that time. Very shortly, Evil Xisuma volunteers to be his sidekick, with Worm Man being oblivious to Evil Xisuma's dodgy background.
Then when the Hermits don't believe in his heroism, claiming he has yet to prove himself, he hijacks part of Zedaph's 25th episode, escaping from a room using his knowledge and wits to prove that he is the hero that the Hermits deserve.
Evil Xisuma ended up betraying Worm Man, trapping him in a prison as expected from anyone with any experience of his past evil deeds. However, Evil Xisuma then had a change in heart, using TNT to blow Worm Man out of prison.
Zedaph built Worm Man and Evil Xisuma both gift shops, giving away free merchandise to anyone who wished to celebrate their work for the server, though nobody but Evil Xisuma bought any at first. Zedaph also collaborated with Worm Man to write Worm Man's autobiography.
Zedaph was often suspected to be Worm Man, however Zedaph has denied it several times.

Season 6[]
This was Zedaph's 2nd season in the 1.13 Aquatic update, though they later updated to 1.14. This season consists of 43 episodes, the first being released on July 19, 2018, and the final episode on February 25, 2020.
Bases[]
Zedaph decided in this season to be a true Hermit, and not have any one base, instead choosing to have several dotted around the server. These bases include: His Desert Pyramid, his Iceberg Base and The Woo-Den.
The Desert Pyramid[]
This was the first base Zedaph created in episode 3, building it in the desert as the name suggests. He built a massive pyramid out of sandstone with an endstone floor, using gold blocks and cyan wool for detail. After dying off camera, Zedaph built a wrench lock - using a non-vanilla tool called the wrench to move glazed terracotta in a circle, triggering an observer and opening the door. He also build a semi-automatic sugarcane and cactus farm underneath, and a bedcophagus in the middle.
The Glassier[]
This was the second base Zedaph built, starting it in episode 4 in an ice biome. Most of the iceberg Zedaph built was underwater, with a tiny bit peeping out from the top of the water; this section was cut off from the underside and filled with water and fish, and even a dolphin! It was built out of cyan glass, with a prismarine spiral going down multiple layers to the bottom. Zedaph built a cryogenic-stasis based bed, using a minecraft glitch to give the impression that he was going into cryogenic stasis. However, Mojang fixed this glitch, leaving Zedaph to come up with a new bed design. The new bed design was an underwater bed, using a slime block to push him up so he could sleep in the bed, with him falling through a trapdoor upon waking up.
In this base, Zedaph had a polar bear called Minty. He mainly resided on the 3rd floor.
The Woo-Den[]
This base was built in episode 12, as a massive jungle tree in a jungle biome, using slime blocks and pistons as elevators. Then Zedaph built a 'Root Chute' - a tunnel that you enter via a boat, a slime block propelling the boat over ice and ending out on the sea.
Lava Base[]
This base is Zedaph's Season 6 Nether base, originally created in episode 18 under a lava lake. It had a floor of dead coral, with the walls and ceilings being made of iron bars and nether fence. Zedaph also made a lava-smelter, using lava as the fuel for the furnace. The entrance was simply jumping into the pool of lava above with a fire-resistance potion and falling through the gaps.
Hobbit Hole[]
In episode 26, Zedaph made a hobbit-hole style base in a flower forest biome, having a spherically shaped interior coated with dirt. The floor was made of grass, that was meant to transform into dirt whenever he left the base, with the grass beginning to race every time he re-entered. This never became a reality. Zedaph also built a greenhouse in the same biome, made out of polished andesite and green glass.
Connected to this area, Zedaph built a skeleton farm to collect bones to turn into bonemeal. He used the spare arrows to fill up a line of dispensers, all of which fire when a line of tripwires are triggered; this speeds up the item collecting and pushing the skeletons into the water streams.

Zedaph was tagged by ImpulseSV in episode 4, as punishment for breaking into iTrade without paying. He was made to wear the dunce hat as punishment for getting tagged. Zedaph then tagged TangoTek while he was doing a livestream following that, meaning he was no longer it.
Quartz, Warts & Shorts[]
Quartz, Warts, & Shorts was the name of Zedaph's shop in the Shopping District. As the name suggested, he sells nether quartz, nether warts, and colourful leather leggings (shorts). It was established in the first week of the season as a means of paying rent to PythonGB while he took residence in his house. The building itself was meant to resemble a giant pair of leather shorts stuffed with quartz and warts. Beneath the building was a nether wart farm only he can access that is used to stock the shop.
Zedaph noticed that Grian was selling quartz at a cheaper price, so he started buying Grian's quartz then selling it in Quartz, Warts & Shorts. Consequently, he was banned from Grian's shop.
ConCorp[]

In episode 5, Convex (later renamed to ConCorp) formally banished Zedaph from the Hermitcraft main isle. This never came to anything, as Zedaph however did not participate in the Hermitcraft civil war, Sahara, Area 77 or any other interactions with ConCorp. He did hire a studio for his mini game from ConCorp studios, courtesy of Xisumavoid.
Death[]
In episode 13, Zedaph died, consequently becoming death and challenging each Hermit to get to 0 health (die) as fast as they could, putting them all on a leaderboard. Afterwards Zedaph came back to life, digging out of his grave and getting straight back to work. On Halloween the next year, Death awarded MumboJumbo with his prize.

DUCK[]
DUCK was Zedaph's mini-game in Hermit Land. It was a free-to-play single-player game where the player would run through a designated course sneaking, crawling, swimming, and bouncing on slime blocks to escape. Players recorded their times and wrote it in a book provided at the finish line, and recorded their best times in a separate book. It used half-slabs and pistons to make the ducking effect, and it was made out of red terracotta and polished andesite.
Is That Sheep Looking at Me?[]
Repeating this gameshow from his singleplayer world and Hermitcraft Season 5, Zedaph brought it again into Season 6, this time with an improved entrance, varied rounds, and elimination system for the losers.
BdoubleO100, Docm77, and Keralis all participated in round one, with BdoubleO100 being first eliminated, and Docm77 being eliminated in the final round, leaving Keralis as the winner.
In the last registered episode of the show, the winners of all 3 previous rounds went head to head against each other in a festive special to determine the winner. Xisumavoid, TangoTek, and Keralis all participated in round one, with TangoTek being first eliminated, and Keralis being eliminated in the final round, leaving Xisumavoid as the ultimate "Is That Sheep Looking at Me?" champion.
The RGB Game[]
The RGB Game stands for many things, as the comments section suggested this name in many different formats, such as Rapidly Gather Blocks or Randomly Grabbed Blocks, and the game consists of red, green and blue blocks being randomly flung in one of 3 directions. Each block goes in one hopper out of the 3 placed to get a point, but if it's not going in the right direction, the hermit loses a point. To stop it from entering the wrong hopper, they can jump to catch the block, and all caught blocks can be fed back into the system. The game ends when all the blocks have gone into the hoppers.

Season 7[]
This was Zedaph's 3rd season, beginning on February 28, 2020, and ending on April 29, 2021. This season began in the 1.15 update, though they later updated to the 1.16 Nether update.
Main Base[]

Zedaph's base is in a hollow mountain north of the Shopping District which he has named The Cave of Contraptions. The plan for the season was to fill the mountain with contraptions that are purposely inefficient for comedic effect, such as a jump-powered furnace, a lapis dispenser and a bed that wakes you up randomly on either the right side or the wrong side.
This connects to a greenhouse outside of the mountain, with a staircase going between them. The greenhouse is a dome made completely out of green-stained glass, and Zedaph has many manual farms there, such as wheat and potato farms. Later on, Zedaph added a bone-meal farm, shaped like a Venus flytrap with a flower farm hidden inside and a piston motion that gave the impression the plant was chewing the greenery. Zedaph built a 6x6 piston door at the top of the mountain, activated by target blocks and letting hermits fly in and out freely.
He also made a security system, similar to the one in Season 5 in which baby-zombies (Collected from Contraption #002 (Zombie Plinko)) with speed and iron swords would chase the Hermits around The Cave of Contraptions.
The Dinghy Race[]
The Dinghy Race was a minigame involving bells. It was intended to be a multiplayer game in which two Hermits go against each other to hit bells. Zedaph recruited Hermits to complete more Dinghies in the game, but ultimately it was never completed. Instead, Zedaph and ImpulseSV blew up the dinghies in Zedaph's episode 36 and permanently ended the minigame.
The Head Games[]
Zedaph signed up for PvP in the head games, and almost immediately after was killed by Grian for his head. However, he was never shown taking any more role in the games on camera, not killing anyone for his head, nor getting killed for his head.
You Owe Zedaph[]
This is Zedaph's shop, in which he gives a Hermit a random favour in exchange for an IOU of 2 diamond blocks. Cubfan135 was allowed to rename one of Zedaph's contraptions, choosing to rename The Actual Sun and Moon to Cub's Celestial Cosmodrome.
Crazy Golf[]
Zedaph made a game of Crazy Golf, using armour-stands and the knockback enchantment, recruiting ZombieCleo to help make the armour-stands look like balls. After he completed 3 holes, he recruited Cubfan135, Xisumavoid and FalseSymmetry to test the game, with him coming first with 8 points, and the others with 9, 13 and 14 respectively. He then ran through the course once it had 9 holes, getting a score of 36.
Hermitcraft Big Base Swap[]

After the events of HCBBS, Zedaph got the deed for Grian's G-Mansion, and Grian got the deed for The Cave Of Contraptions in his Season 7 Episode 67. Zedaph moved into the mansion, and after exploring, began to add contraptions there as well. Contraption #001, The Dumb Waiter, connects the lower level to the upper level of the base in a safe, though slow, way. Contraption #002, The Getter Upperer, launches one into fly mode and gliding out of the building after sleeping in the bed.
They have since switched back, shown in Grian's Season 7: Episode 70, with Grian using a Zoucher, given to him by TangoTek in exchange for an IOU, to get the deed back. Grian then gave the deed for The Cave Of Contraptions back to Zedaph. Zedaph later made TangoTek pay him two diamond blocks for giving Grian the Zoucher.

Season 8[]
This is Zedaph's fourth season, running from June 16, 2021, to December 19, 2021.
Zedaph started the season with a passionate pursuit for science, building his lab and facilities around it. The lab featured a hypnotic nether entrance with a rotating tunnel, a villager tower that automates the life of villagers in several floors from birth to skill mastery. In addition, true to his vision, the lab houses several experiments and contraptions including:
- The Wool Wall - An semi-automated vertical sheep farm, with wool drop rates being counted and graphed.
- The Combrewter 2.0 - an energetic automatic potion brewer that has ingredients flying overhead at all times, only entering the brewer when selected via an intricate redstone mechanism.
- The Mitey Maze - with an eager endermite running the course of the maze repeatedly from start to finish, trying to beat its time on a redstone timer. He later had ImpulseSV attempt to beat the mite's time.
- The Farm Arm - A flying machine arm harvesting several types of products at once.
A major part of the lab is The Chamber - A testing facility in the basement of the science lab, including a researcher room, a sealed test chamber, and a thick glass window in between. In The Chamber, Zedaph performed psychological analyses of several (volunteering) Hermits using a colorful variety of tests, although he had some difficulty with compiling his data into results. The Chamber was used to test TangoTek, BdoubleO100, VintageBeef, MumboJumbo, and eventually, in a karmic twist, Zedaph himself.
Main Base[]
Zedaph's base is on mountain of the main island. His base is called the "Science Lab". Plans for the season are very similar to The Cave of Contraptions, his previous base in Season 7 [2]

Season 9[]
This was Zedaph's 5th season, beginning on March 5, 2022 and ending on December 10, 2023.
He starts off by building a boulder starter base, which he dubs "Zed's Humble Boulder Abode".

In this season, Zedaph sets the goal to achieve Zedvancements, which are custom advancements determined by himself and his community (see the page for a detailed list). The Zedvancements are reflective of Zedaph's style, and frequently lead to collaborations with several different Hermits. Each also comes with a custom trophy.
Zedaph's mega base for the season is the "Hole of Fame", where he stores all his trophies and items. His base is separated into sections where his "Hall of All" is located (to collect every single item in Minecraft), his dangling animals, his storage system and all his existing trophies.
