The Prawn, also called VintageBeef's Spaceship, is VintageBeef's main base for Season 8. Located on the coast in a mountain biome, it is located near the Big Eyes Crew Shopping District and the Swamp Lump. To the north is the ocean (across which is Boatem); to the east is Fifi's Cave; to the south is Stressmonster101's Ravine; to the southwest is GeminiTay's Woodland Palace; to the west is more ocean (across which is Octatown).

Places of Interest[]

The Crater[]

The crater below the spaceship is a large circular pit that the spaceship is rising out of. It is made of black concrete, black concrete powder, blocks of coal, magma blocks, black terracotta, podzol, dead bushes, coarse dirt and path blocks. There is a scaffold reaching up to the beacon and ladder which serves as the entrance to the spaceship. A netherrack bridge connects the beacon to the mountain and the redstone line for the transporter connects to the ship.

The Prawn[]

The Prawn is a seven-block tall circular spaceship made out of deepslate, quartz, copper rods and end rods. There are 1x2 copper doors activated with pressure plate that connect the rooms to the hallways; the copper is intentionally mismatched in age, and the walls and rooms are intentionally asymmetrical. Almost all of the rooms are unfurnished, save for a villager work station and a redstone block labeling the room.

Storage Room[]

The Storage Room has 29 shulker boxes filled with all of VintageBeef's materials, all but one of which is red. It also has a window on the back wall.

The Gear Room is empty but would have stored space suits.

Security[]

It has an elevated bed accessible via a ladder, an ender chest, a crafting table in the floor, a potted cactus on a copper rod, weeping vines, a desk with a computer and a redstone repeater mouse, a shelving unit with sea pickles and a squid head, and a small seating area with two chairs, a table, and a soul lantern.

History[]

Beginning The Prawn[]

In Season 8: Episode 0, on Day 1, VintageBeef headed towards the flat area in the mountain biome where he planned to build his base. On Day 7, VintageBeef mined some deepslate, which was the initial inspiration for his base. On Day 26, 27, and 28, VintageBeef outlined the crater of his base with granite. From Day 30-Day 76, he began mining the base. On Day 77, he revealed the inspiration for his deepslate spaceship base: the movie District 9. On Day 79 and 80, he began outlining the spaceship with quartz. In Season 8: Episode 1, he finished the quartz floor of the spaceship. In Season 8: Episode 2, Stressmonster101 visited The Prawn to help heal a villager. Later, Cubfan135 transported to a magical wonderland inside of some powdered snow on top of The Prawn. VintageBeef then outlined the interior using netherrack, and labeled each room with a sign on a redstone block.

Halls, Walls, and Doors[]

In Season 8: Episode 3, he showed EthosLab his transporter, connecting the mountain to The Prawn. He also designed the 1x2 piston door that would be used for the entrances to all the rooms with EthosLab. Later, Iskall85 delivered his No Wings Club medal. VintageBeef then installed the piston doors for each room, and started moving shulker boxes into his storage room. He also replaced the netherrack outline with quartz, and built up the walls using a quartz-deepslate design. In Season 8: Episode 4, VintageBeef condensed the door design and built ceilings throughout the hallways. Later at the base, he traded for quartz with iJevin, and traded dirt to ImpulseSV. GoodTimesWithScar taught VintageBeef how to un-oxidize and wax his copper doors. Later, he dug the crater all the way down, and filled the center in with the black and magma design, and dirt circumference.

Working on The Prawn[]

In Season 8: Episode 5, VintageBeef showed the deepslate exterior of The Prawn. He removed the granite perimeter of the crater, and worked on the dirt walls of the crater. In Season 8: Episode 6, VintageBeef added thrusters to The Prawn, and added more shulker boxes to the storage room. In Season 8: Episode 7, he added landing gears. In Season 8: Episode 8, it is revealed that, while digging out the crater in Season 8: Episode 1, VintageBeef found a canister of a mysterious black gas from Evil Xisuma that had begun to infect him. He added the villager trading stations to the rooms. He then designed the interior of the Captain's Quarters.

VintageBeef was last seen flying away from the ship in Season 8: Episode 12.

Trivia[]

  • A grass block with a sign saying "BEEF'S" remains under the ship.
  • VintageBeef outlined the crater with granite because he had not yet reached the nether to use netherrack.
