The Diamond Tower Race

The Diamond Tower Race is a "minigame" or "event" that was first started unintentionally by GoodTimesWithScar and Grian. It was supposed to be used for flexing your diamonds, but eventually turned into a race to the Build Limit. This led Rendog to reset the economy when he became king and create Hermit Quests in order to redistribute the diamonds.

Grian, GoodTimesWithScar, and PearlescentMoon won by connecting Grian's and PearlescentMoon's towers together.

"Rules"

The first person to reach build height by building a tower to Build Height (Y=320) is the winner of the minigame. According to Grian in his Season 9: Episode 10, only Diamond Ores (and their Deepslate variant) or Diamond Blocks may be used, however if any hermit dare use Ancient Debris or Netherite Blocks they may do so. Hermits may also change the shape of other's pillars to try and get the edge on their opponents.

Order of events

Grian joins the race.

1. GoodTimesWithScar built the first deepslate diamond ore tower after a mining session (blocks used: 193 or more, total height: 48 or more).
2. GoodTimesWithScar added an unknown number of deepslate diamond ores (top level: 148y).
3. Grian built a deepslate diamond ore tower (blocks used: 28, total height: 7) to compare it with GoodTimesWithScar's tower.
4. Grian added 16 deepslate diamond ores to his tower (total number of blocks used: 44, total height: 12).
5. Grian added 210 deepslate diamond ores to his tower (total number of blocks used: 254, total height: 65, top level: 139y).
6. PearlescentMoon built a deepslate diamond ore tower (blocks used: 106, total height: 27).
7. GoodTimesWithScar placed MumboJumbo's mustache on Grian's tower. He also left a message that the diamonds with it are a gift for MumboJumbo. Later Grian moved the mustache on GoodTimesWithScar's tower. MumboJumbo never took any diamonds from the towers because it was just a prank.
8. Grian added an unknown number of deepslate diamond ores (top level: above 148y).
9. PearlescentMoon added 89 deepslate diamond ores to her tower (total number of blocks used: 195, total height: 49).
10. Docm77 built a deepslate diamond ore tower (top level: 221y).
11. Xisumavoid built a deepslate diamond ore tower (blocks used: 127, total height: 32).
12. Cubfan135 built a diamond block tower (blocks used: c. 256, total height: c. 64, top level: 148y).
13. GoodTimesWithScar moved MumboJumbo's mustache on Docm77's tower.
14. TangoTek built a stone tower.
15. Hypnotizd built a deepslate diamond ore tower (blocks used: 62, total height: 16).
16. FalseSymmetry and Stressmonster101 together built a glass tower (top level: 319y).
17. FalseSymmetry built her own deepslate diamond ore tower (blocks used: 24, total height: 6).
18. Docm77 moved MumboJumbo's mustache on Cubfan135's tower.
19. xBCrafted built a diamond block tower (blocks used: over 182, total height: over 46).
20. xBCrafted replaced all blocks of Hypnotizd's tower with cobbled deepslate and hid ores in chest under it.
21. Cubfan135 added 45 diamond blocks to his tower (total number of blocks used: c. 301, total height: c. 76, top level: 161y).
22. Hypnotizd added an unknown number of deepslate diamond ores on top of cobbled deepslate tower.
23. MumboJumbo built a redstone block tower (blocks used: 260, total height: c. 65).
24. Grian added 143 deepslate diamond ores to his tower (total number of blocks used: over 397, total height: over 100, top level: 201y).
25. Rendog built a jack-o-lantern tower (top level: 319y).
26. ImpulseSV built a diamond block tower (blocks used: 164, total height: 41) and an emerald block tower (top level: 319y).
27. PearlescentMoon removed her tower and placed it back upside down on top of the world. She also added 5 deepslate diamond ores and 3 regular diamond ores (total number of blocks used: 203).
28. Iskall85 put eyes above MumboJumbo's mustache on Cubfan135's tower.
29. Xisumavoid built a bone block tower (top level: 319y).
30. GoodTimesWithScar added 222 deepslate diamond ores to his tower (total number of blocks used: over 415, total height: over 104, top level: 204y). Later he moved his tower and lost 3 blocks in the process.
31. Non-Diamond towers have been disqualified. Grian reduced the height of some of them.
32. Grian added 44 deepslate diamond ores to his tower (total number of blocks used: over 441, total height: over 111, top level: 212y).
33. Grian lowered Docm77's tower, by curving the tip (top level: 205y).
34. Hypnotizd added 80 deepslate diamond ores to his tower. He also found 62 diamond ores hidden by xBCrafted (total number of blocks used: over 142, top level: 130y).
35. Cubfan135 added 8 diamond blocks to his tower (total number of blocks used: c. 309, total height: c. 78, top level: 163y). He also moved MumboJumbo's mustache on ImpulseSV's tower.
36. GoodTimesWithScar lowered Grian's tower, throwing it into a hole in the ground.
37. Docm77 added 32 deepslate diamond ores to his tower (top level: 212y).
38. Grian shot down the GoodTimesWithScar's tower with a cannon and added 91 deepslate diamond ores to his tower (total number of blocks used: over 532).
39. PearlescentMoon added 177 deepslate diamond ores to her tower, but also removed 3 regular diamond ores (total number of blocks used: 169, total height: 43).
40. Cubfan135 added an unknown number of diamond blocks and later 2 more blocks to his tower (total number of blocks used: over 311, top level: 170y).
41. Cubfan135, ImpulseSV and xBCrafted team up as Diamond Block Bearded Bros to create one diamond block tower. After that xBCrafted added 14 more diamond blocks to their tower (total number of blocks used: 767, top level: 267y).
42. GoodTimesWithScar smashed the Diamond Block Bearded Bros tower with a diamond anvil.
43. Docm77 extended his tower to the side, creating a long arm blocking PearlescentMoon's ability to expand her tower.
44. Diamond Block Bearded Bros built portals to intercept Grian's missile and hit the Hypnotizd's tower with it. They also added 16 (6 from ImpulseSV and 10 from Cubfan135) diamond blocks to their tower, on top of the anvil (total number of blocks used: 783).
45. GoodTimesWithScar added 66 deepslate diamond ores to his tower (total number of blocks used: over 478).
46. PearlescentMoon broke Docm77's diamond arm due to the lack of supports, which allowed her to expand further. After that she added 64 deepslate diamond ores to her tower (total number of blocks used: 233, total height: 59).
47. Hypnotizd added 11 deepslate diamond ores to his tower (total number of blocks used: over 153).
48. Grian added 38 deepslate diamond ores to his tower (total number of blocks used: over 570) in an attempt to connect it with PearlescentMoon's tower and finish the race. They team up with GoodTimesWithScar, who added 192 ores, but it wasn't enough, so they used more blocks from his tower. The actions were noticed by Cubfan135 who alerted the others and tried to stop the connection with Docm77 and ImpulseSV.

History

GoodTimesWithScar pillared up to show his wealth to the audience, and decided to keep it there for showing off. Grian joined in and started with an "adequate" pillar of deepslate diamond ore.
