TangoTek, known as Tango for short, is an active Hermit who officially joined the server near the end of Season 2. He is known on the Hermitcraft server for creating games such as Decked Out, Among Us, Boombox and The Tangler, among many others. Outside of Hermitcraft, he is known in the Minecraft community for his industrial iron farm designs, most notably the Iron Foundry and the Iron Titan. He is also the creator of the Tektopia villager mod. Along with Zedaph, ImpulseSV and Skizzleman, he is a member of ZITS.
TangoTek has 1,110,000 subscribers.[1] He also has a second channel, Tango Tek2, where he uploads livestreams. His most viewed video on his main channel is What If Minecraft had MUCH Better Villagers?
Season 2[]
Prior to being officially added to the server, TangoTek was whitelisted for a day in November 2013 to help MumboJumbo sort out an issue with his Iron Foundry (the server's community iron farm). He was un-whitelisted from the server once they had resolved the issue.[2]
Later in the season, TangoTek would be officially invited to the server alongside xBCrafted, uploading his first episode on July 24, 2014. Together, they were the last new members to be added before the server reset. TangoTek only uploaded a handful of episodes in Season 2 due to being whitelisted so late into the season. He built a nether portal optical illusion inside a mountain in New Hermiton. He also created a double witch farm in a nearby swamp.[3] He, along with Xisumavoid, blew up a ravine as the final act of Season 2, using TangoTek's gunpowder from the recently constructed witch farms and Xisumavoid's leftover sand from clearing the desert of his Wasteland's area.

Season 3[]
TangoTek began his season by building his starter base, a nether-themed tower atop a small mountain in Hermit Hills. This base was later expanded downwards inside the mountain, where TangoTek built his storage system. The interior of this base was decorated by Zueljin. Early on in the season, TangoTek constructed an Iron Titan in the spawn chunks which served as a communal iron farm for the Hermits. Iron from the farm was transported from the spawn chunks to Hermit Hills via a water stream to Little Rusty's shop, along with ender pearls from the End. Another of TangoTek's major community contributions this season was starting Hermit Thrills, the first minigames district on Hermitcraft. Built inside a relatively flat valley, Hermit Thrills hosted a large number of minigames including several made by TangoTek himself: the original Boombox, Climb Time, and RUSE. He also built a quad witch farm along with Xisumavoid, ImpulseSV and MumboJumbo. Most notable was the elaborate portal leading to the witch farm, consisting of a haunted mansion with a garden built entirely in the nether. TangoTek was one of the contestants in Docm77's kill competition, and made an involved treasure hunt for EthosLab at his jungle base. Late in the season, he and ImpulseSV started working on a shared megabase in the nether. However, this project was never completed before the season ended, due to burnout and focusing on other games. One of the last projects he and ImpulseSV worked on was collaborating with FalseSymmetry on the Halloween island. They built a haunted mansion filled with named mobs and a mausoleum with an armour stand jumpscare.

Season 4[]
TangoTek returned to Hermitcraft Season 4 after a period of inactivity near the end of Season 3. He started his season by building a mob grinder based around a triple spawner, and built his starter base, a castle known as "Tango's Keep", in the Blue District of the mesa.
TangoTek often collaborated with ImpulseSV as part of D.E.R.P (Dangerous Entity Relocation Professionals), a mob delivery service. D.E.R.P headquarters were based in a large diorite skull built in the shopping district. They fulfilled delivery orders and pranks on other Hermits during livestreams, transporting ghasts, wolves, villager zombies and many other named mobs to various locations in the mesa. They also worked together on the Ghastipede, a nether mob farm which used ghasts in minecarts to wipe mobs off a spawning platform.
He built the Iron Titan, but this time decided he was going to sell the iron rather than giving it away to the Hermits. Other business endeavours included a fireworks shop (RockeTek) and a potion shop (Tek Tonics). He also co-owned a shulker box based bank with Cubfan135.
A major project he undertook this season was the community Nether Hub. It featured a map representation of the mesa on the floor with portals leading to each district and walls featuring armourstands with each of the Hermits' heads. TangoTek also built two big minigames this season: The Tangler and an Elytra-based game named "Rooster Booster".

TangoTek built a giant nether-themed base near spawn containing four witch farms. For this season, he also created a new iron farm design called the Iron Phoenix. Instead of killing Iron Golems with a lava blade as he had done in previous seasons, TangoTek constructed a platform where they would be killed by Evokers. This began a practice he would continue in later seasons of killing iron farm Golems using newly introduced Minecraft mobs.

Season 6[]
TangoTek created the How to Kill a Tango challenge inspired by the How to Kill a Doc challenge from Season 3. The winner of the event was ImpulseSV. Grian won a Shulker box of rockets from TangoTek's store Tek To The Skies.
He helped Grian prank Docm77 and Rendog by replacing their Stock Exchange diamonds and the leaves on Docm77's bush with Grian and TangoTek player heads. At spawn, TangoTek also created the community iron farm, known as the Iron Titan. In this version of the farm, Golems were killed by eight Drowned armed with tridents. The Iron Titan was broken in 1.14, but was "fixed" by ImpulseSV. ImpulseSV also announced the "How to Kill a Tango" competition.
TangoTek fought with the G-Team against Team STAR in the Season 6 Civil War. Following the Civil War, he took a 7-month hiatus from Hermitcraft from late February to mid-October 2019 in order to focus on developing the TekTopia villager mod.
In Demise, he was the eleventh one to die, having the same death as ImpulseSV while the two were trying to disable the traps scattered around the server. He killed Keralis with a trap and Grian with Cubfan135.
His last completed project of the season was a new version of Boombox, a minigame he originally created in Season 3, which he built in the Season 6 Hermit Land minigame district.

Season 7[]
TangoTek set up his starter base to the northwest of the shopping district, near ImpulseSV, Zedaph, and TinFoilChef. His first mission was to secure a village west of his base with ImpulseSV for later use.
TangoTek used his first episode "Touring Season 7 with my Camera! - Hermitcraft Season 7: #1", in order to introduce his viewers to the world, complete with a minimap and viewing neighbors' base locations.
TangoTek worked with Xisumavoid to take down the Ender Dragon at the beginning of the season.
Main Base[]

His base this season was Toon Towers, a bright cartoon-style base inspired by Looney Toons and Phineas and Ferb. He quickly built an iron farm, and following his tradition of killing the Golems in fun and exciting ways, had them killed by Ravagers he collected with Cubfan135. He also built a creeper farm near his base. TangoTek opened two shops, PyroTEKnics and The Iron Works. With ImpulseSV, he made Concrete Complete, which was later renamed to Color Complete when they added wool and dyes to the shop. During the events of HCBBS, he obtained ownership of FalseSymmetry's Cyberpunk City, with False getting the deed for Tango's Toon Towers in her Season 7 Episode 68. He also gave Grian a zoucher from Zed's Zouchers so he could get his base back.
The Boomers[]

Along with ImpulseSV and BdoubleO100, he is one of The Boomers. They were hired, first by Cubfan135 and then by Keralis, to destroy unwanted land around their bases. Another job the Boomers were given was a task from Iskall85. He paid the Boomers to demolish Woody, the bird pooping diorite next to his tree. Then, they accidentally annihilated Rendog's starter base by letting Rendog operate the TNT bomber. Instead of removing items from the counter, he added them and his base was utterly annihilated.

TangoTek created an immensely popular and complex (mega) minigame called Decked Out below the Shopping District. The winner was EthosLab. TangoTek said in livestreams that he was planning on creating a new Decked Out game when the Warden mob is added to Minecraft. Decked out 2 was built in season 9.
Among Us[]

TangoTek's last project of the season was making a Minecraft-ized version of "Among Us" in Hermitcraft, under The Netherlands Gaming District. The game is complete and playable.

Season 8[]
TangoTek teamed up with BdoubleO100 and Keralis on Day 1 of the new server, forming the Big Eyes Crew. He started building his base at the north-eastern corner of the continent. In the first weeks of the server, they built the Big Eyes Pass N' Gas shops across the continent and TangoTek traveled around using his horse, Adequate.
TangoTek built his starter base within the first week and then built a new iron farm design, as well as a zombie-based copper farm. Upon BdoubleO100 completing his custom mountain, TangoTek took charge of the area underneath it and built Fifi the Destroyer. Guarded behind Fifi, he built a large storage system for the crew and he worked on detailing Fifi's cave throughout the season. He also added buildings and shops to the Big Eyes Bay, as well as a concrete farm hidden in a mountain and a redstone tree farm, decorated to suit the style set for the area by BdoubleO100. Also nearby, he built the first fixed-location minigame of the season, Zombie Bumper Boats.
TangoTek's shops notably include Big Eye Ron's (kept by Ron the big iron golem). He agreed to a series of sponsorship deals around Boatem with MumboJumbo in exchange for generous amounts of iron. TangoTek made an army of zombie/drowned walking advertisers as a part of this deal, although most of them chose to hang out in and around MumboJumbo's base.
Early in the season he set up Tango's Bedrock Service in Boatem, which was a prank "service" that trapped any visitors in the bedrock layer using pistons. TangoTek also experimented in detail with retexturing mods in the early season, coming up with an oak tree disguise with which he pranked several Hermits.
After both times the Boatem crew covered the Big Eyes Bay with boats for marketing-motivated pranks, TangoTek led the responses. First he used item retexturing to create fake bedrock in PearlescentMoon's storage room, and non-solid fake bedrock at the bottom of the Boatem Hole, thus massively confusing the locals. For his second retaliation, he teamed up with BdoubleO100 to build PewPew, a very big eye staring down on Boatem, and later releasing 60-70 ravagers that terrorized the town, leading to Boatem conceding victory to the Big Eye Crew.
In response to the growing moon problem, TangoTek sided with science and built HASA (the Hermitcraft Aeronautics and Space Administration) just outside of Big Eyes Bay. The "government-funded" facilities included a large telescope on the roof, a supercomputer, and Holsten the sarcastic super AI. Upon Holsten's recommendations, TangoTek decided to go to the moon himself to solve the issue, building a small-yet-efficient rocket ship. Wanting a partner in his dangerous space mission, he returned to Big Eyes Bay to fetch his dependable old friend, Adequate, whom he trained to be an astronaut. The pair blasted off together.
Base[]
Starter base[]
TangoTek built a medieval-themed starter house, in which the upper floors are used as a shop, Copper N' Candles, and the cellar reserved for later work. He stationed himself in the basement. The base's windows unintentionally look like the face of popular remixer Elybeatmaker.
Taskmaster[]
A mysterious lectern and a book appeared in TangoTek's starter base, in which the book explained that TangoTek's job is to "Trick Bdubs into dying." If he would refuse this he would need to burn both the lectern and the book, and if he finishes the job he must place a sea pickle on top the Spawn egg without anybody catching him.
The Cave of Temptations[]
TangoTek built a cave out of amethyst blocks near the Boatem Pole. The lore was that Timmy the pig, who resided in the cave, would fill up a chest with goodies. Timmy would continue filling up the chest as long as nobody took anything from the chest. If they did, Timmy's powers vanish and no more goodies will come. After a few episodes, ImpulseSV and PearlescentMoon had an unfortunate incident with Timmy, and thus the Cave of Temptations came to an end.

Season 9[]
Before the season begins, TangoTek announces that he aims to build Decked Out 2.
TangoTek starts the season by building his starter base, a haunted house of sorts on top of a group of dead trees with a lake in the middle.
Early in the season, TangoTek shows no interest in gathering diamonds, to point of building an "Anti-Shop" within his starter base where he gives away diamonds for free. Similarly, he joins the Diamond Pillar contest by ridiculing the others and very quickly building a stone pillar up to build height.
In his early episodes, TangoTek builds a number of newly designed farms, including a copper farm and a wither skeleton farm in collaboration with ImpulseSV. He then builds an efficient Wither killing machine, that enables him to rapidly farm nether stars.
After building his first farms, TangoTek focuses on designing and building the season's Nether Hub, the Astral Library, which features a central area with bookcase platforms and an enormous magic tree. Surrounding the area is a night sky made up of nether stars and disguised beacon beams.
After the nether hub, TangoTek begins working on his megabase, The Deep Frost Citadel, under which he plans to build Decked Out 2. After building the entrance to the citadel, he digs out beneath it and starts building the Decked Out 2 dungeons in parallel.
Decked Out 2[]
Decked Out 2, the sequel to Decked Out, was TangoTek's main focus in Season 9. It's a giant, four level dungeon-crawling, treasure-hunting, deck-building game with custom items and sounds. Quite possibly one of the most ambitious and astonishing Vanilla Survival Minecraft projects ever! This unfathomably sized game was built underneath his mega-base, "Deepfrost Citadel." Initial construction began early in the season with construction on his base in late May 2022 in his 16th episode and Decked Out 2 in early August 2022 as outlined from his 22nd episode of the season. Decked Out 2 was finally opened to the hermits after 13 months of building on September 9, 2023, at 10am PDT[4].

Season 10[]
TangoTek started out the season joining with PearlescentMoon and eventually EthosLab to live close together. He built his starter house, an industrial inspired townhouse with a copper wheel. Along with his neighbors, he worked on designing and building the Postal Service before moving on to farms featuring the new Auto-Crafter block. He also gained access to the Redstone Collection #1 permit, combining with Welsknight (the owner of the Redstone Collection #2 permit) to form Two Tek Delay, the main redstone shop of the season.

- Starting during Season 9, Tango uses a resource pack that changes the texture of the Totem of Undying to a party popper referring to the particles that it makes when used. He got the suggestion from comments in his live streams.
- In a stream, TangoTek explained that he used to be a game developer before becoming a YouTuber. However, TangoTek did not like being in the corporate world and began his work on YouTube.
- It's very likely that the skills he obtained from this job were later used to make his two most famous minigames, Decked Out and Decked Out 2
- TangoTek often streams on his Twitch,[5] playing Hermitcraft, Among Us, and random various games with various friends. A few days later, he uploads the VODs to his second account, which is Tango Tek2.
- TangoTek used to stream on Mixer. He moved to Twitch at the start of Season 7.
- TangoTek has participated in all 5 seasons of The Life Series alongside multiple other Hermits.
