Hot Potato is the name for a renewed tag Grian started in his Season 6: Episode 76. Unlike the original tag hermits may tag AFK hermits. However, there is a punishment for receiving the tag that the tagee decides, and if the tagged hermit catches the tagee tag-handed, the tagged hermit doesn't receive the punishment and the tagee receives the punishment.

Iskall85 throws fake items into Grian's inventory. Unfortunately, his efforts proved futile as Grian noticed the potato in his inventory then types "CAUGHT" in chat. The punishment was to "Include 'Of Doom' atleast 25 times when describing things in your next episode."

While Rendog is building a bridge, Stressmonster101 throws the potato into Ren's inventory. Rendog did not notice the potato in his inventory, and his punishment was to "Say 'EVERYBODY LOVES ICE' ten times. You must randomly say this without acknowledging that you have said it."

Xisumavoid did not notice the potato in his inventory and the punishment was to "Swap your WASD keybinds for the first 10 minutes of your next episode."

Impulse leaves Grian 6 shulker boxes full of redstone components at the end of the Area 77 arc, alongside a note thanking him for inviting Impulse to Team Hippie and presenting the shulker boxes as a gift. However, one of the shulker boxes included the potato and punishment book, and Grian accept the boxes without noticing. His punishment was to use a custom resource pack for the duration of his next episode, which swapped around textures such as coal and diamonds.
