TCG Swap is a card exchange shop built by PearlescentMoon in Season 9 Shopping District. This place was created due to the second season of Hermitcraft Trading Card Game, in which many TCG cards will have changed function to balance the game. Inside the store, it is possible to exchange old cards for new ones.
History[]
After Hermitcraft Trading Card Game finally starterd, all cards were verified during many TCG matches and some of them turned out to be problematic. When the first TCG season ended, VintageBeef, the creator of the game, decided to make an update based on suggestions of the players, to make the game better and more balanced. All Effect Cards have been modified, changes have included the way cards work or just the description itself to be easier to understand. Also almost all Rare Hermit Cards have been updated, only Rare Docm and Rare Iskall hasn't been changed.[2]
The updated cards quickly go to TCG Shop, but there were cards bought earlier, that had to be replaced before second TCG season. For this purpose, VintageBeef contacted PearlescentMoon,[3] who, as the Cleaning Lady, like to took care of cleanliness and had already helped him by creating the Recycling Factory. She accepted the task and accomplished it soon after that by building TCG Swap in Shopping District. She prepared the interior on the first floor, arranging the barrels and trade instructions. The second floor, however, was left empty, in case extra space is needed.[4] When the building was completed, VintageBeef filled it with cards to exchange and the place was ready for players to use.[5]
Exchanges[]
Exchange details[]
To make an exchange, the Hermits must bring their outdated cards and leave them in the bottom barrel, then take an equal number of corresponding updated cards from the upper barrel. The process required searching the barrels because they were not all labeled (some had no item frames) or not labeled enough (some had more cards than was shown in item frames).

Complete | He prepared himself by placing all his cards in shulker boxes. It was a surprise to him that there were more cards in barrels, because at first he thought that only cards displayed in item frames were updated.[7] He kept two cards ( and ), that were important to him in the old version, to display in his base as a souvenir.[8] The whole process took him about 45 minutes.[9] | Docm77's Season 9: Episode 51

Probably complete | He made the exchange in several attempts. At first he met with ZombieCleo, so she could explain the process and accompany him during swapping the cards. He managed to trade all his Rare Hermit Cards then.[13] Over a week later, he went back to the process to exchange Effect Cards as well. This time he was in the company of Docm77, and as they went to play a TCG match, the process was left unfinished again.[14] He participated in Season 2 TCG matches, so he probably completed the switch. | -

Probably complete | While exchanging he was confused, because he thought the map arts had been changed. He started comparing graphics on the and cards and then he saw that only the lore had been updated. He also didn't notice that was updated too (it was one of the cards unlabeled in item frame) and it is not known if he replaced it later.[15] | XBCrafted's Season 9: Episode 77
Complete[16] | While she was swapping her cards, JoeHills joined her, as he needed her to explain the exchange process.[13] | - |
Trivia[]
- JoeHills stated that TCG Swap is his number one thing on the server he wants to be destroyed. He also suggested that The Diamond Button should be built closer to TCG Swap, possibly hoping that when the Button exploded it would also damage the shop.[17]
