Demise is a server-wide event that started at the beginning of Season 10. Like the original Demise, the goal is to be the last person to die on the server. Upon death, a Hermit is designated a Reaper and has the goal of killing another Hermit by means other than PvP (this does not include kills like punching them off a cliff). Once a Reaper successfully kills someone they join the Dead team.
Unlike the first iteration of Demise, all Hermits are participating from the beginning of the season rather than needing to sign up. Also unlike the first iteration, rather than player skins becoming Monochrome, the player username becomes red.

While climbing down a mountain with impulseSV and GoodTimesWithScar, GoodTimesWithScar punched Skizzleman as a joke, but impulseSV punched Skizzleman mid-air into a deep cave to get his Reaper kill.

Due to the restrictions of his self-imposed No Hotbar challenge, Zedaph was forced to try to kill mobs with flint and steel. He ended up getting hit by a burning zombie and subsequently burned to death due to his low health.

While pillaring up in a cave, Grian was ambushed by a baby zombie which knocked him off to his death.

15th: GoodTimesWithScar[]
Cubfan135 replaced one of the chests in GoodTimesWithScar's starter camp with a trapped chest connected to three TNT minecarts. GoodTimesWithScar arrived there shortly after and noticed the trap, but still opened it (by accident), when he was trying to zoom on it with his binoculars. The TNT minecarts exploded immediately, destroying the camp, killing GoodTimesWithScar, and destroying most of his resources.

While caving, iJevin was attacked by multiple skeletons. He ran away and got caught between two skeletons. He was then shot by one of them.

When GeminiTay was fishing, Grian pillared over to her and launched her in the air with a fishing rod. Consequently, she then fell to her death.

SmallishBeans was killed by Skizzleman and ImpulseSV. ImpulseSV lured him above a pit of zombies and then Skizzleman broke the blocks he was standing on, causing him to fall into the pit. The trap was originally intended for GoodTimesWithScar, but he was killed by another trap first so ImpulseSV and Skizzleman changed targets to SmallishBeans after GeminiTay was killed by Grian.

11th: PearlescentMoon[]
PearlescentMoon was killed by a large group of hermits digging out a deep hole, and using multiple fishing rods to launch her into it. EthosLab gained the credit for the kill, as he was the one who pulled her into the hole Cubfan135 had dug. This dropped her down to half a heart, meaning that when she was pulled upward by another hermit, she died instantly when hitting the ground. Technically, the credit was shared between EthosLab and Cubfan135, but since Cubfan135 had already killed GoodTimesWithScar EthosLab was the only Reaper credited with the kill.[2]

Stressmonster101 opened a trapped chest, triggering TNT minecarts to explode and kill her. The trap was set up by GeminiTay and ZombieCleo, though it was intended for iskall85.

Xisumavoid was killed by a trap set by PearlescentMoon and Keralis at his nether portal. It consisted of a pit of stalagmites covered by powdered snow.

8th: MumboJumbo[]
MumboJumbo was killed by phantoms while AFK after iJevin and TangoTek destroyed his AFK box above his slime farm and put him on a flying machine up to build limit. The intention was for MumboJumbo to be forced to jump to his death, with cobwebs placed around to stop him from going sideways to land in water, but they did not consider phantoms and did not give him a roof.

iskall85 was blown up by GoodTimesWithScar using an end crystal on GoodTimesWithScar's third attempt. GoodTimesWithScar also blew himself up each time. EthosLab provided the end crystals.

BdoubleO100 was killed by a TNT Trap set by Rendog, VintageBeef and iskall85. He knew the trap was there and found it, but tried it out thinking it was a pufferfish trap. Rendog stood close to not give away the true size and type of the trap, dying in the process.

Because FalseSymmetry was the last living player remaining, she won Demise. At her winning ceremony, she was voluntarily killed by MumboJumbo, Xisumavoid, Stressmonster101, and xBCrafted by using dispensers placed to kill her, officially ending the game. MumboJumbo's dispenser had water with a pufferfish, Xisumavoid's had arrows, Stressmonster101's had harming potions, and xBCrafted's had fire charges.

Prize[]
The prize was revealed to be a “Hermit Permit”, a pass that gives the holder the right to sell a certain item in a shop. False received a "Joker" permit that can be used to sell any item of her choice, but once chosen cannot be changed.
Trivia[]
- Due to the restrictions of his No Hotbar Challenge, Zedaph did not participate in Demise after his death and thus went straight to the dead team.
- Xisumavoid tried to kill Welsknight by digging a pit under his base and filling it with obsidian and pufferfish. Xisumavoid also placed blocks in his base to prevent him from ender pearling out, however Welsknight pillared out of the trap and survived. This pit is going to become Welsknight’s storage area later in the season.
- Rendog spent the longest time out of anyone as a reaper, as he was demised second and stayed a reaper until BdoubleO100's kill.
- Stressmonster101, Xisumavoid, MumboJumbo, JoeHills, Welsknight, Hypnotizd, xBCrafted and BdoubleO100 were all reapers who didn’t get any kills during the event excluding FalseSymmetry’s death.
- The ending of Demise introduced the new shopping district system, Hermit Permits.
- ImpulseSV was the only hermit to change his skin to grayscale during Demise, but changed it mid event.
- The only case of an alive player killing a Demised player was of FalseSymmetry killing Rendog.
