Old Hermiton is the original spawn village in Season 2. The town served as a central hub for all the Hermits.

Bases in Old Hermiton[]

Several Hermits had created starter bases in Old Hermiton. Those who have lasting structures are listed here in this table.

Biffa2001 built an abstract shaped house with no roof on. The build was pranked by Pungence and Skyzm, who turned it into a saucer for a giant teacup.

CilantroGamer built an interior inside of an artificial grass mound, which was known as the first hobbit hole on Hermitcraft. The build was known as Cilantrogamer's-Hobbit-Style-Hole-In-Da-Wall-Hyphenated-Home.
Dewtroid

Dewtroid built a bridge that led to a large underground portion that had four tunnels jutting off in different directions. Dewtroid intended to tax the hermits by making them pay to cross her bridge.
Hypnotizd

Hypnotizd had a wooden house at the back of Old Hermiton, with a luxurious interior on the first floor. Pungence and Skyzm accidentally burned down the house after a prank went wrong.
Jessassin

Jessassin had a plot near Xisumavoid where he intended to put a farm, but didn't really do anything with it. IAmSp00n actually built the entry arch into Jessassin's plot.
JoeHills

JoeHills had a house built into the side of a cliff, that was surrounded on the surface by his seemingly random builds. Throughout the early parts of his series, JoeHills would periodically fill his base with poetry on signs.
Keralis

Keralis built a medieval style house with a tower surrounded by horse stables in the back. Keralis' infamous reputation with horses began with an all black horse named 'Darth Vader,' who he accidentally killed. The horse was replaced by the all white Nametag, which mysteriously disappeared.
Kiershar

Weather or not Kiershar's base was a part of Old Hermiton is debatable, but he did mention building it within the confines of the town. He built a small stone fortress. Kiershar had trapped the entrance to his base so nobody but him knew how to enter.
King Happy

King_Happy built a replica of a jungle temple above a bunker which was his actual house. King Happy's bunker was accessed through the lever puzzle normally found in jungle temples
KingDaddyDMAC

KingDaddyDMAC constructed a vanilla recreation of a Litch Tower, a naturally generating structure from the Twilight Forest mod. KingDaddyDMAC unsuccessfully

attempted to convince Pungence and Skyzm to finish the tower.

Luclin began work on constructing a mansion out of cobblestone and wood, with a swimming pool in the back and a basement full of farms, but never finished. Xisumavoid attempted to prank Luclin early on in the season, but had to end up cleaning up the prank himself as Luclin had since left the server.
Monkeyfarm
MonkeyFarm Old Hermiton
Monkeyfarm built the iconic skull house, complete with headphones and sunglasses, and an intricate interior. The iconic sunglasses and headphones were originally a prank, but Monkeyfarm decided that it improved the look of the skull and kept them.
MumboJumbo

MumboJumbo built a small brick house complete with a minimal interior and with a controversial

pink sheep inside.

MumboJumbo actually built his Old Hermiton house after he began work on his base.
Pungence

Pungence had a modern house in the centre of Old Hermiton, which was made of clay and spruce wood. Pungence's house was originally built by Juicetra and was made entirely of wood, but once he went inactive, Pungence took it over and converted it into his own.
Skyzm

Skyzm built a large house next to Luclin at the edge of Old Hermiton. Skyzm's house had a second floor that was occupied by Pungence before he took over Juicetra's old house.
Unhost

Unhost built a large conceptual house in a similar shape to Skyzm's, which had a few experimental flooring designs. Unhost never actually slept in his house, due to his large amount of carpets and slabs inside; instead he slept in a bed just outside his front door.
VenomKisser

VenomKisser built a conceptual modern house (known as her 'Ice Cream Sandwich' house) across from the Establishment of Sp00ntology. VenomKisser never released any videos about her building her house, instead deciding to stream her activity on Hermitcraft.
Xisumavoid

Xisumavoid built a small adobe house in an artificial desert with multiple basement levels. A staircase in the basement of Xisumavoid's adobe house led down to his original base project, an underground ravine which was entirely covered in slabs.
ZombieCleo

ZombieCleo built a replica of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, assisted by JoeHills, with the garden portion being on the interior. ZombieCleo wrote a Choose Your Own Adventure game that toured the player around the existing Hermitcraft Server, which began at her house.

A small wooden shack with a map of Old Hermiton, built by IAmSp00n right before his famous 'Sp00ntology Sex Ed' sermon. The Kiosk once contained a baby zombie renamed 'Dinnerbone' so it would be upside-down.
Animal Pens

A large, classical style animal pen built by VenomKisser on stream. A controversy surrounded the Animal Pens when they were first built, as it was thought to have encroached on Topmass and Jessassin's land claims
Will Work for Bacon Campaign

A giant pixel art pork chop built by Topmass, which exchanged his services for donations in a provided chest. The pork chop was cited as one of the landmarks of Old Hermiton
Slime Shop

A large rustic/medieval style shop that sold slime balls, built by Xisumavoid after taking inspiration from Keralis' house. The plot was owned by MumboJumbo, which made it partially his by extension.
Establishment of Sp00ntology

A large blocky church built by IAmSp00n, which he built instead of a house. The back portion had a large melon farm. Within the front part of the Establishment, there is a button labeled "Repent to Sp00n", which if pressed would dispense a melon slice.
Xisumavoid's Vacation Home

Xisumavoid built a small house across the road from his adobe one, which served as his "vacation home" The build in its entirety was inspired by Keralis' build in Old Hermiton.
Redstone Consultancy

MumboJumbo built a shop on the town square, which sold his redstone services. The shop was stated as being closed after MumboJumbo built a new Redstone Consultancy in New Hermiton.
Half-Ass Shop

Monkeyfarm built an automatic shop that sold mules, functioning not unlike a vending machine. Shortly after building this, Monkeyfarm and MumboJumbo made an exchange, for MumboJumbo's services through the redstone consultancy for a mule.
Feather Falling Shop

Xisumavoid built a small shop that sold iron boots with the feather falling enchantment. Xisumavoid built an artificial pond above the shop for a decorative skylight.
Melon and Pumpkin Towers

These towers were built by Xisumavoid at the beginning of the season around the town centre, with a reception area next to his feather falling shop. The melon and pumpkin farm towers have been in every single season of Hermitcraft to date.
Red3yz' Pies

Red3yz built this small shop on his Old Hermiton plot that sold pumpkin pies. Unlike most shops, Red3yz designed his shop so the customer would craft the pie themselves from ingredients that he provided.
Ender Station

MumboJumbo built this small ender pearl station next to Xisumavoid's cow farm. Unlike many other contraptions of the era, this ender station still functions.
Cow Farm

Xisumavoid built an underground cow farm near Monkeyfarm's Skull. A portion of the farm stretches underneath MumboJumbo's house.
The Floating Gardens

JoeHills began work on these floating platforms shortly after the beginning of the season, which became a large side project that he worked on throughout the duration of the early season. The entire structure is meant to be accessed through a nether portal located at the top platform.
Self Service Nano Farm

King_Happy built this, a piece of farmland which was hooked up to a dispenser, which could be turned on repeat for automatic crop farming. Despite it being a community building, King_Happy still considered this to be a shop.
Community Mineshaft

Xisumavoid built the building over the community mineshaft, which was a standard 2x3 stairway. The original tunnel accidentally carved into Dewtroid's base, and was unofficially used as a back entrance.
Horse Stables

A small medieval building built by Keralis meant for the hermits to keep horses Despite Keralis' enthusiasm with the stables, barely anyone really used them.
Community Enchantment Centre

An underground room built by Xisumavoid, fit with an enchanting setup and bookshelves in the walls as decoration. Levers surrounding the bookshelves around the table trigger pistons that block the bookshelves to alter the enchantments, a common practice of the era.
Dig 4 Hire

Xisumavoid built Dig 4 Hire as a location to sell his excavation services for the other hermits. Xisumavoid stated in his shop that he would keep all spoils from any operation that he was hired for.
Wheat and Sugarcane Farm

CilantroGamer built this manual operation crop farm across the road from his hobbit hole as a means of decoration, and not much else. For a while, after the crops were removed from Jessassin's plot, this farm served as a community crop farm before King_Happy's self-service one came around.
Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument, 1/8 Scale

JoeHills built a 1/8 scale model of the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial and Reflecting Pool (in Washington DC) a short ways behind the town. As well as this, JoeHills set up a community desert behind Old Hermiton, which he intended to turn into a miniature version of Xisumavoid's base.
Indoor Tree Farm

VenomKisser built a tree farm inside a large wooden structure near her house. Many people, including several hermits, have incorrectly cited the build as belonging to Topmass or Keralis, but they had both disproved this in their videos.
Outdoor Tree Farm

A large traditional tree farm built by Xisumavoid, once again inspired by Keralis' build style. Xisumavoid had stated that he intended to use the farm for leaves, and thus filled up a storage chest next to the farm with shears.
Mausoleum at Halicarnassus Replica

JoeHills initially built this structure above the entrance to his house, initially making the pillars out of rainbow wool but changing them to water a few episodes later. The Mausoleum, instead of housing the body of a deceased emperor, held a monument to Biffa2001's Season 1 base, Biffa's Bowl.
Museum of Eyes

JoeHills built this abstract building next to his base, which he stuffed with various recreations of eyes from various video games. The building's windows are even more abstract than the rest of the build, as they were on varying side levels and disconnected.
