Grumbot is a robot built by Grian with the redstone by MumboJumbo, to make 'mayoral' decisions for MumboJumbo's mayor campaign. It was part of MumboJumbo's Campaign Headquarters.
Outside[]
On the outside, Grumbot is a rectangular headed robot with its arms in a shrugging position. It is made from grey concrete and terracotta, with special matrix banners covering his face. Different dials are located on the part of the body that are sticking out of the white concrete on the ground. A wire with a red end sticks out of its head. MumboJumbo's face has been added to the head of Grumbot, as well as Grian's hair, and headphone-looking objects are located where the ears of the robot should be.
Purpose[]
The purpose of Grumbot is to make decisions for MumboJumbo's mayor campaign. Due to the fact that MumboJumbo does not know what a mayor should do and has no plan (Grian did not help him because he said the poster was the plan), they decided to create Grumbot to make those decisions for them. One has to rename a diamond the question being asked to ask a question. They then press the four buttons in order. Grumbot will then dispense a piece of paper with its answer. Although sometimes it will release a complete book on what to do.

Creation[]
Grumbot was created by Grian and Mumbo after realising they both lacked mayoral skills
Budget[]
In Grian's Episode 24 and MumboJumbo's Episode 24, Grumbot was used for the first time. After showing its dedication to the phrase "Mumbo For Mayor" and being saddened when asked to say something else, Grumbot angrily told MumboJumbo and Grian, after asking what to do, that he would need a bigger budget to continue, which the duo got to work to. Grian challenged GoodTimesWithScar to do the "Diamond Mining" challenge with him, which Grian won and GoodTimesWithScar had to fulfill the bet of supporting MumboJumbo. Meanwhile, MumboJumbo did his famous "Chirp" mining session, in which he did a mining timelapse/strange music video to the song "Chirp" by C418.
The Plan[]
Film Studio[]
After both Grian and MumboJumbo delivered diamonds, Grumbot requested Grian and MumboJumbo to build a film studio. MumboJumbo decided to take on building the studio. He built it right next to Grumbot floating on a dinghy. They then used it to film the "Mumbo For Mayor" advertisement.
Grumbot Store (Jrumbot)[]
Grumbot also requested for them to build a Grumbot Shop. Grian decided to build it, and put it inside the Season 7 Shopping District. the store sells diamond blocks in exchange for supporting MumboJumbo's campaign. There were "Mumbo For Mayor" tees, mustaches obtained from shaving parts of MumboJumbo's head hair, and even the "Mumbo For Mayor" ad music disc. However, buying such items did not equal in you having to vote for MumboJumbo, which may have caused the landslide loss.
Sabotage[]
Grumbot pranked by Iskall85
After asking Grumbot questions, Iskall85, Stressmonster101's mayoral campaign manager, got tired of it supporting MumboJumbo. To stop it, Iskall85 made a purple heart shape in the green matrix text, rewired Grumbot's brain, and covered its red puff in purple. After the conversion, Grumbot responded, 'GET GORGEOUS' to all of Iskall85's questions. When Grian checked it out he said "My son! They've re-branded my son!", he also kept getting 'GET GORGEOUS' responses and when he tried to fix it, it responded 'GET GRIAN' instead, so Grian had to call MumboJumbo to fix it. MumboJumbo came and fixed it without testing it fully first.
Death and Revival[]
On the final day of the campaign/voting day (June 23, 2020), Grian and Mumbo asked Grumbot, "It is vote day, HELP". Grumbot responded by having an existential crisis, shooting out dozens of papers with questions such as "How did I get here?", "Did anything really matters?" and "What is love?" Meanwhile, smoke started shooting out of Grumbot's head, causing Grian to proclaim that Grumbot had "melted." It also shot out several stacks of papers that said "Goodbye dads". Shortly after, Grumbot was revived.
Final Decision[]
Grumbot was proclaimed dead but MumboJumbo fixed Grumbot.
Grian and MumboJumbo decided together it would not be able to deal with MumboJumbo's severe loss in the mayoral race. They then proceeded to build a virtual reality cube to put Grumbot in. When they were done faking this world, Grian booted it back up by telling it "Mumbo won the race!!!!:)". Grumbot answered "GRUMBOTS LIFE HAS MEANING". After making a window allowing them to check up on Grumbot they look through it and see that Grumbot was overjoyed. They then left Grumbot behind to its virtual life.
Hermitheus[]
Grumbot makes a return in Rendog and Docm77's Season 8 Finale, assisting the Hermitheus Crew in operation of the ship and the Hermatrix Version 8 alongside Ren-Bob and The Goatman. It is likely Grumbot had been picked up by Ren-Bob and Goatman after season 7 ended. It seems happy with this arrangement. It is likely that Grian and MumboJumbo talked with Grumbot again on the Hermitheus after landing on HC-9.
A potential second Grumbot appears on the Hermitheus, instead of just Hermatrix version 8 he runs the entire Hermatrix mainnet on the Hermitheus, it's also possible this is just a second screen for normal Grumbot built so Grumbot can check on maintenance around the ship.

Jrumbot[]
Jrumbot is Grumbot's younger brother. He has many similarities to the original Grumbot, but has some differences, such as having a blue antenna instead of a red one, having sandals, and is a blusher.
Grumbomb[]
TangoTek encountered the variant Grumbomb on his voyage to prevent moonfall. After TangoTek left the asteroid field the Grumbomb threw TNT at TangoTek's spaceship. TangoTek fought back with the ship's lasers, sending Grumbomb spinning away.
Grumbot Prime[]
In an alternate timeline, Grumbot has a drastically different design, MumboJumbo ultimately won the mayoral race, and Grumbot was never put in the virtual reality cube.
Sometime after this, Grumbot Prime was transported to Hermitcraft Season 9 via The Rift. Grian has enlisted its help as a random content generator, where any Hermit can come push the button and receive three things to work into an episode, such as 'Dolphin, ImpulseSV, Explode', where the Hermit would connect the three prompts in whatever way they could to produce content.
Emperor Grumbot[]
A new version of Grumbot that Grian created in the Empires SMP, Emperor Grumbot is created for the purpose to reignite the Rift between worlds to help the Hermits return home. Emperor Grumbot is integrated into the Hermits' base Hermitopia. He remains offline for a while due to lacking a redstone brain, but once he's awoken he defaults to his originally designed purpose of making MumboJumbo mayor. He opens the Rift for the Hermits to return home, but knowing there is no MumboJumbo in the world of Empires, he decides the world must be purged.
Fearing for their world, the original members of the Empires SMP destroyed Emperor Grumbot as the Hermits were leaving.
Trivia[]
- Grumbot's name is a portmanteau of Grumbo (Grian + Mumbo) and robot.
- On both Grian and MumboJumbo's 27th episodes of Hermitcraft Season 7, Grumbot refers to them both as its 'dads'. In response to this, MumboJumbo said, 'Oh he's said good luck dads as well.'. Grian responded with, 'Oh HAS HE?', which was followed by a lot of laughter on his part.
- Grumbot was mentioned in a lectern in the Axolotl Sanctuary near Xisumavoid's base.
