GoodTimesWithScar, also known as Scar for short and GoodTimeWithScar on Minecraft, is a YouTuber with over 2,060,000 subscribers[1], and 480,000 followers on Twitch.[1] His most viewed YouTube video is Day In The Life Of GoodTimesWithScar - A Disabled Twitch Streamer And YouTuber.
GoodTimesWithScar is known for being a builder and terraformer. He has created many large, detailed builds while participating in 6 seasons of Hermitcraft, and in earlier building tutorials. GoodTimesWithScar builds in a variety of styles from modern to fantasy. He is known as an excellent terraformer among the Hermits, and has worked on landscaping community areas and Hermit bases. He is also known for his cat, Jellie, who was added as cat variant 9 in the 1.14 Java Edition update, after winning the Minecraft cat vote on X (formerly known as Twitter). His building timelapse music, a song called "Howling" by Lupus Nocte, is also iconic within the community. GoodTimesWithScar is known to have an entertaining, funny, and optimistic personality.
Season 4[]
On February 25, 2016, GoodTimesWithScar uploaded his first video on the Hermitcraft Season 4 server, entitled 'Minecraft 1.9: Getting My Survival Tent House Started (Hermitcraft Season 4 - Ep.1)'. He went on to make a total of 86 videos on the server - mostly of him constructing his Wild West outpost base.
In episode 1, he showed Welsknight's clip (he was in the hospital at the time) of the server launch on a deserted island. The Hermits then swam to a huge mesa biome, which was where most of the builds were going to be. After the clip ended, GoodTimesWithScar proceeded to construct a tent out of colored terracotta on one of the mesa's plateaus and put chests and a bed inside. The next few videos consisted of him building two more tents and a Wild West-style wagon facing a campfire in the center and him terraforming the area with trees and bushes.

GoodTimesWithScar built his starter base in the side of a hill calling it a "hobbit hole" a type of architecture from J.R.R Tolkien's The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. GoodTimesWithScar struggled building the base when he was attacked by a group of zombies while dealing with lag and totaled, at that time, a personal record of 16+ unintentional deaths in one episode.

He formed the ConVex with Cubfan135. GoodTimesWithScar also created the entire underground district, along with the community portal, his main base, HermitCraft Season 5: Things Go Horribly Wrong While Planning My Base City, and the NCDF (The National Cat Defense Force). He also commissioned MumboJumbo to build a large piston door for the NCDF, and paid him with an IOU, which MumboJumbo would use in the next season of Hermitcraft.

Season 6 is GoodTimesWithScar's third season on Hermitcraft.

GoodTimesWithScar's base was situated on a set of islands off the coast of the pirate district.
Main Base[]
The main island, which he began to call "Scarassic Island" later in the season, was a heavily terraformed island made to look volcanically active and inhabited by pirates. The island featured a giant volcano connected to an almost separate island featuring many spires and cliffs off the side. This half of the island had pirate residences built into the cliffs and in a cavern going through the island. In the back was a pirate ship. His other notable islands included Black Sands Island, which featured his base's main Nether portal. He also had an island with an ancient ruin that the pirates were stealing gold from.

Season 7[]
In Season 7, GoodTimesWithScar became a wizard due to the infinity portal (built in Season 6), which took him to the season. He built a large snail, called Larry, as a starter base. This base is in the southwestern jungle that he shared with multiple other Hermits, including Grian and MumboJumbo. On the first day, Grian pranked GoodTimesWithScar with a zombie spawner that led to his base. GoodTimesWithScar's nether portal has a dark magic feel with stone highlights, or in his words, "A mix of this Sith temple I saw in Star Wars Rebels, and Stonehenge." When making his episodes GoodTimesWithScar mistakenly skips episode 17.
GoodTimesWithScar also dies quite often and sometimes loses most of his stuff. He gets the enchantments back at Keralis' store Lookie Lookie at my Bookie.

GoodTimesWithScar's starter base was a snail, which he nicknamed Larry. He also developed a large fantasy-style elven village also known as the Magical Village around Larry. The village included houses in the trees connected by walkways, and a beautiful fountain and also a super smelter built by MumboJumbo during the HCBBS.

GoodTimesWithScar put his robes aside to start work on a new project: a driller named Big Bud and a giant hole to the 1.16 nether and a part of ScarX. Sadly, 1.16 came before he could finish his hole to the Nether Update, because of health issues of his own and of his cat Jellie. He has said that his control center looks like a toilet. However, after the events of HCBBS, GoodTimesWithScar obtained the deed for MumboJumbo's Ancient Monument, first implied by his response to MumboJumbo telling GoodTimesWithScar in his Season 7 Episode 72 "I own you Scar", to which GoodTimesWithScar replied "I own you now too!".
The Head Games[]

He and Grian teamed up for the Head Games, because he had a few hundred points worth of Ender Dragon heads. Together, they made Operation 'Fire Lightning', where they bred many villagers and killed them all, due to villager heads having a 100% drop rate. Grian and GoodTimesWithScar eventually won the Head Games, and GoodTimesWithScar got 16 diamond blocks, which Grian gave to him via a beard on Larry.
Mayoral Campaign[]

GoodTimesWithScar initially ran for mayor because BdoubleO100 pressured him to, with GoodTimesWithScar as candidate and BdoubleO100 as campaign sergeant/lieutenant/captain. His slogan was "A tree and a cat for everyone." He was elected mayor and removed all the mycelium from the shopping district. He also had a road building competition. His office was situated in the Town Hall, and has Jellie on his chair, a portrait of MumboJumbo, and a surviving sapling. There is also an armor-stand version of Cubfan135 spying on him through the skylight.
The Upside Down[]

GoodTimesWithScar drilled a hole into the nether and (accidentally) dug right through Grian's tunnel to The Upside Down. He has created a research dig site of sorts and was "excavating The Nether". His main base in the Upside-Down was his maneuverable drill (Big Bud) upside-down, near his larger drill that is breaking through the roof. He also built a large conveyor belt taking ancient debris and nether quartz to the Overworld. Mechanical robots are scattered around the place to add a bit of life. He made a shop called Ghast Busters which offers Ghast defense and repairs and also has the Ghostbusters vehicle flying out.

After Grian started the Mycelium Resistance, GoodTimesWithScar decided to reform HEP, also know as Hermitcraft Environmental Protection (pronounced "hip" by GoodTimesWithScar) to fight the mycelium. When GoodTimesWithScar's diamond throne was stolen he decided to declare war and started recruiting people. GoodTimesWithScar created a HEP headquarters and a warehouse to destroy the mycelium. He also built a huge HEP laser to excavate the ground to find the Mycelium Resistance. GoodTimesWithScar, BdoubleO100 and MumboJumbo officially blasted their way into the Mycelium Resistance which was underneath Monster's Brew.

GoodTimesWithScar was a member of the secret society Sewer Community, also known as the Sewer Cats. The location of their headquarters was just below the office in Keralis' city. He built a well hidden base in Keralis' Season 7 City and stole various parts of the city for the Sewer Community as well.

Aqua Town[]

Aqua Town was a project started by GoodTimesWithScar. It was meant to act as an extension of the shopping district and follows a 1920s - 1950s New York City style. Along with BdoubleO100 he would build large parts of the city, and sell other parts for other Hermits to develop themselves. GoodTimesWithScar would use several of the buildings as shops, such as Threads by Scara and the Moo-Pop Cafe.

Season 8[]
Start of the season[]
After the start of the 8th season at the Spawn Egg, GoodTimesWithScar started traveling north with MumboJumbo and Grian, but due to some unfortunate shenanigans, they parted ways. Later they re-met at the peak of the continent at the soon to be Boatem Town. After the Boatem Pole was founded by Grian, MumboJumbo, ImpulseSV and PearlescentMoon, GoodTimesWithScar started working on his starter base.

GoodTimesWithScar's Starter Base
Starter base[]
GoodTimesWithScar's first building of his starter base was a wagon named "Lanbo", which is pulled by a trader llama that managed to kill him. The upper floor housed his bedroom and a "viberoom" with a jukebox to listen to music discs. The main floor housed a storage room which consists of multiple barrels that are sorted.
His second wagon was his shop "Bee-serk" that sold bee-related items. The wagon had a honey farm on the inside, honey storage on the front and a giant bee nest on the back.
The third wagon was a villager hotel with each floor having a different set of villagers. The side of the wagon had a giant emerald block pile.
The fourth and final wagon was an old factory building for a planned cactus farm and a super smelter.
The wagons were called the Swaggons.

GoodTimesWithScar's plan for his mega base was to build a city over a cloud. He started some peaks in stone above the bases belonging to Grian and PearlescentMoon. He couldn't finish his plan as the season ended before he could start with the cloud or the city on top of the clouds.

Season 9[]
At the start of Season 9, GoodTimesWithScar started by building an Elven Tree as his starter base, while slowly expanding adding elf houses and other fantasy styled details. He chose to wear an elven skin from the beginning, which was quickly mistaken for a matador outfit. GoodTimesWithScar then mistook the word for mattress store and master door, leading him to create a matador mattress store.
At the Secret Fools Day, GoodTimesWithScar made a game with ravagers.
He has permanently settled near Grian's Dwayne, creating the "happiest place on Hermitcraft," Scarland. A massive theme park based on Disneyland, Scarland has Jellie as its mascot and queen, and currently incorporates Main Street Hermitcraft, a grand entrance, a storage room, a volcano and a shop of custom merchandise, and the Fantasyland castle, with an Adventureland themed towards pulp fiction and a science-fiction Futureland planned.

GoodTimesWithScar has a cookie factory that is run by industrial grandmothers (villagers). There are a few different types of cookies he sells, such as the Elven Kiss, which is a reskin of chorus fruit. He also has a Redstone shop.

GoodTimesWithScar started Season 10 by building a steam train on rail tracks as his started base, slowly expanding it by adding new train carts. He decided to wear a Zookeeper's skin to match the theme of his future base - a mega Zoo with every Minecraft mob in a dedicated biome.

Disability[]
GoodTimesWithScar was previously a swimmer,[2] but in 2001, he was diagnosed with an unknown neuromuscular disease that weakens his muscles.[3] This results in him using a wheelchair. The disease weakened his diaphragm, requiring him to use external oxygen to assist his breathing. Due to his weakened muscular system, he also requires a feeding tube and goes to the hospital regularly. His family is supportive of him and have traveled with him to events to help with his care. In 2021, GoodTimesWithScar received off-road equipment called the "Not A Wheelchair" from YouTuber JerryRigEverything, which allowed him to enjoy the outdoors more. He posted a vlog on YouTube called Life-Changing Experience On The NotAWheelchair! (electric off road wheelchair), which shows him trying the equipment for the first time.
GoodTimesWithScar has dyslexia,[4] which often leads to humorous mishaps on the Hermitcraft server.

- He is a fan of Star Wars and often talks about the franchise during his Twitch streams, even showcasing a lightsaber he owns.
- He loves Disney theme parks and wanted to be an imagineer.
- He enjoys being creative in a variety of ways including photography and acrylic/oil painting.
- His favorite architectural style is Craftsman.
- He owns multiple art books and consults them while building and discussing builds with other Hermits.
- His username is based on a mishearing of the name Michael Scarn from The Office.[5]
- His in-game username is ‘GoodTimeWithScar’ instead of ‘GoodTimesWithScar’ because he says there is only one good time per game, but his channel has multiple games. In reality, it is because there is a character limit for Minecraft user names, but he prefers the other explanation. He also has a camera account called BadTimeWithScar.
- He enjoys playing many other games besides Minecraft. Games he has enjoyed are Call of Duty, The Witcher, Red Dead Redemption, The Elder's Scrolls V: Skyrim, and Grand Theft Auto. He also streams different games on Twitch with his friends ImpulseSV, Grian, and Skizzleman before being eventually joined by GeminiTay, in a group nicknamed GIGS.
- He started participating in MCC events during 2022. In MCC 25 he teamed up with Smallishbeans, Jojosolos and Seapeekay on the Green Geckos and then won against Purple Pandas (Eret, Sylvee, Awesamdude and Fruitberries). GoodTimesWithScar would later go on to win MCC 32 with Aimsey, Antfrost, and Ranboo on the Red Rabbits team against Aqua Axolotls (Eret, Kara Corvus, Purpled, and Ryguyrocky).
- He is a fan of Top Gun and wears a pair of aviators whenever he plays the MCC game Rocket Spleef.
- In 2022, GoodTimesWithScar organized a Hermitcraft charity event in support of Gamer's Outreach. The Hermits built games in preparation for the event and then played them during the streamed event. The event was a huge success, raising over $430,000 for the charity.
- He has participated alongside many other Hermits in The Life Series.
- GoodTimesWithScar would sometimes get killed by a hostile mob or has low to half a heart while walking into his base.
- GoodTimesWithScar tends to forget to light up his base creating an unintentional mob farm.
