Dwayne is Grian's mega base in Season 9. It is a giant mountain/boulder, though Grian states it is not a boulder, it's a "rock". The rock also has floating islands in it.

Appearance[]

There is one giant boulder in the middle, supported by various boulders below and on the side of it. The build also has an opening in a middle, which has a tower. Alongside that, there is a portal near the top-left corner.

Areas[]

Boulder[]

Dwayne

The boulder itself, also known as Dwayne, is a giant rock.

Bridge[]

Dwayne (bridge)

There is a bridge connecting MumboJumbo's mega vault and Grian's base. The bridge was remade in Grian's Season 9: Episode 14, to fit the more "ruined" and "ancient" aesthetic.

Tower[]

Dwayne (tower)

In front of the build, there is an opening that has the bridge on it. It also includes the tower.

Portal[]

See below for the description.

The portal, ignited

Near the top-left, there is a giant portal. It connects the rock with Grian's starter base.

The portal is a moon-like structure, with the thickest part on the top-left, and slowly becoming thinner as you go clockwise. In the middle, there is a nether portal.

The Rift[]

Below the big boulder, there is a rift in it. See that page for more information.

In his episode 15, he built an entrance to the rift.

Floating islands[]

Dwayne (islands)

In Grian's episode 10, he made 3 floating rocks near the edge of the main boulder. Grian stated that it will have more buildings on it.

Dwayne (all islands)

In Grian's Season 9: Episode 12, the remaining islands were added, bringing the total to 6. He said that the islands are now complete.

As of Grian's Season 9: Episode 16, the bottom-most island houses N.A.R. ("Not-a-Resistance") headquarters. Roughly one-third of the island was inadvertently infested with sculk following a series of failed dramatic reveals.

Trivia[]

  • Grian's base was supposed to include the hill in front of it, but it was soon claimed by MumboJumbo in his 4th episode.
  • The side of the structure is actually very thin, as seen is his Episode 12.
  • The nickname "Dwayne," along with Grian's insistence that the base is not a "boulder" but a "rock," may be an allusion to actor and former professional wrestler Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
  • This base was meant to have more to it. It did start with Neo Classical, then Medieval, but was meant to have Steampunk, Cyberpunk, and at the top Futuristic, but the plans were dropped when the season was near its end, making this his first unfinished base.
