Staff Update and our next Featured Contributor!
You may have noticed that the wiki has been a busy place since the start of Season 10! We have a lot of new visitors and new editors daily - so many that our staff were struggling to keep up reviewing and approving edits to maintain the quality everyone is expecting. We are excited to welcome three new members to the Staff team to assist with content moderation: Addamek09, JL608 and Kija02. Congrats!
And a HUGE congratulations to March’s featured contributor, Guzzy1. They have been working hard the past few weeks to help us fill in content from Hermitcraft's older seasons, which is an amazing addition. Thank you so much for your effort!

Season 10 is already starting out to be a great season. Watching everyone’s first episodes these past two weeks and hearing all the laughter and chaos has been so much fun! You can really tell that the Hermits missed each other over their break.
With a new season comes a new batch of viewers who are just discovering Hermitcraft. 75% of our wiki visitors this month are completely new to our site - amazing! Some of you may be wondering how you can contribute. We always love to see new and excited editors join us, and it’s pretty simple - just find a page that has a work-in-progress box and help fill in some content!

Hermitcraft Wiki End-of-Year wrap up
Thank you to everyone who has been a part of the Hermitcraft Wiki this past year!
While we are waiting for Season 10 to begin, let's look at some highlights of 2023:
In Hermitcraft:
- Hermitcraft set a new record for longest season, at 21 months and 2 weeks, wrapping up in December.
- Hermits and fans alike were obsessed with TCG and Decked Out 2 games for weeks on end
- TCG was turned into a real-life card game
- Hermits started a modded series, Hermitcraft plays Vault Hunters for the first time in over 5 years

- User:Vincent243 and User:Jade Moonstroller were promoted to Administrator

Change of leadership
Today I promoted NinjaMagic and SpellingQueen to burocrat. I am unable to continue in my role as the wiki's leader and it is unfair on you the users and editors to not have a active and reachable leader. I fully trust NinjaMagic and SpellingQueen is all they will do and I wish them, along side all the staff and all the editors all the best in whichever direction the wiki goes next.
I hope to stick around to do what I can, but for future problems I encourage people to go to SpellingQueen or NinjaMagic before me.
Good luck you two, and remeber that whatever you do, you'll never reach my level of mess ups, trust me, I nearly deleted the wiki on no less than three occasions.

Pride on the Hermitcraft Wiki
This month is Pride month, and I wanted to just write a few words about how this relates to Hermitcraft.
Hermitcraft is a proudly accepting community, and I'm sure no content creators would dispute this, and all accept everyone as who they are and encourage this greatly. There are a few LGBTQIA+ hermits, but every single one could be considered a ally of the cause. Hermitcraft has always felt to me as such a diverse and inclusive community and I wanted to make sure everyone saw this, particularly this month, but all year round aswell.
This matters to me personally, speaking as WantedPotato, as I identify as bisexual. This is a big deal to me, and it makes me feel so amazing to know that not once have I felt at odds or in any way disregarded …
Taking a Break form the Wiki
I am sadly taking a break from the wiki because of life problems and stressfulness. I am not active on discord so you can not contact me there. I will be active again on Tuesday, Febuary 15, 2022 (came back on Febuary 2nd instead). Hope you have a good time without me.

Hermitcraft Jokes
I was editing the subscriber counts and started feeling uninterested (I mean editing subscriber counts is not that interesting for me but someone has got to do it sometimes so I do it) so I decided to make some jokes so that is what I am doing right now.

Community Projects
I have a suggestion to make: Community projects.
The current style of the wiki is this: Individual members usually fix/create/revamp pages. While this is totally fine, it doesn't make room for collaboration. Sure, we have the Wiki Discord for conversation between topics, and a "Pseudo-project" going on, but that is not true collaboration. So, we should have wiki projects.
So, in Hermitcraft Wiki:Projects, people can create projects. Each project will be composed of a Project Leader, which is the manager and the foundation of the project. The leader will also check the edits that the members have created, and has full responsibility to fix the errors of the members. Volunteers can join in anytime, to participate in these projects. Hermitcraft Wiki Update
Since our last update post we have been making huge strides in progress of the wiki, and therefore this requires several changes here on the wiki. The big news is we hit 2,000 pages, a massive milestone and there is no sign that the wiki is slowing down any time soon (We will soon post about 3,000 pages xD). The standard of many of our articles is amazing right now with great details going into massive depths. We are so glad, so a massive well done to everyone who has been working on those lately. We've also seen a large surge in edits on pages from older seasons, this is great as we wish to have a comprehensive coverage of all of Hermitcraft from its foundation to long into the future.

Podzol as a alternative to Grass and Mycelium
So basically some of you may watch Vintage Beef and he is going for podzol as a good block. What is a more Autumn looking block than podzol? well nothing. So that is my stance on this
Mycelium Resistance and H.E.P.
Please stop it with the “Mycelium Resistance is dumb” or “H.E.P. is dumb” thing. Grian had already explained that no one should be making mean, bad comments about either side in his latest episode. There have been an excessive amount of community feed discussions about either side being wrong or bad. Hermitcraft is supposed to be fun for the Hermits and the community and I see it as child-like that people take it this seriously as to constantly argue about it. Grian has spoken, I have spoken. I have already put out the consideration of making these posts bannable or turning off the community feed all together.

Okay, lemme get this straight, you might as well seen there has been a spam war on the Mycelium Resistance page right? That was because someone added coords to the HQ 2.0 on and there was a fight between if the coords would stay or not. It's removed now, all good. Problem? It's already spoiled.
Our Featured Contributor!
I am glad to announce that this months featured contributor is SpellingQueen! A featured contributor is someone who the admins think has had a large impact to are community. In this case, SpellingQueen has added tens of dozens of episode pages to the wiki, and has been a big help. Many thanks to SpellingQueen for all you have done to the Wiki! We will decide a new featured contributor in November.

Gonna start filling in Grian's Season 6 Episodes.
I (hopefully) plan to complete Grian's Season 6 Episode Lineup. I will start with the thumbnails first, as that is the easiest to complete. However, I know these pictures can be deleted by the administrators at any time: so I hope for the best.
GoodTimesWithScar's Name
Recently, I have seen many users replace "GoodTimesWithScar" with "Mayor Scar" when referrinng to him with shopping district matters. Using the name "Mayor Scar" in place of "GoodTimesWithScar" is bannable because we use the Hermit's full name. I have made this blog an announcement because it is very widespread, so I encourage users to fix this if they see it, along with general name shortening.

2 New Staff and Inactivity of the Bureaucrats
(I know this came out way too late but it still needs to be announced as we normally do for new staff)
With great pride and happiness I would like to introduce the two new staff members on this Wiki. WantedPotato and TheSpiritOfLucario were both promoted to staff recently because of their amazing dedication towards this wiki and the sheer amount of work they contributed. The need for new staff emerged when our 2 active bureaucrats became inactive which left only me as the only active staff. I wish them all the best and keep up the amazing work you two are doing.

My Sympathy to Iskall85
As some people may know, Swedish Hermit Iskall85's father has recently passed. Although they weren't close, he may not upload for a fair while due to his grief.
Loss is hard, and I send him my deepest sympathy. I lost my Grandmother 7 months ago, and my dog when I was young. I do hope things look up for him in future. Until then, best wishes.
